A Moline man is behind bars, accused of trying to set a person on fire with a flamethrower.
Moline Police say just after midnight on Sunday, officers were called to a home near 29th and 11th Avenue C in Moline. Police say a witness told 911 that a neighbor was seen running down the alley with a flamethrower and was trying to burn an occupied garage, two vehicles and a man who spotted the suspect outside of his home.
The suspect, 61 year old Paul Taylor, was found at his home nearby. Police say they were able to get a search warrant for Taylor's home, where they located a homemade flamethrower and fire accelerants.
No injuries were reported. Taylor was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated arson and aggravated assault. He is currently being held in the Rock Island County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
