(Davenport, IA) -- Two development projects are getting different answers on incentives from Davenport City Council.

A proposed four-story long-term stay Marriott project at the Davenport end of the Government Bridge was denied tax breaks at last night's meeting.

The developers lost a 5-4 vote with several councilors expressing concerns about the clean-up of the brownfield site.

Council did grant 6.5-million dollars in incentives to Fair Oaks Farms to complete a ready-to-eat bacon factory along I-80.

That development is expected to create 250 jobs at a rate of $24 per-hour.
