Davenport Business Group Says Flooding Costs Millions-Per-Month

The flooding in downtown Davenport could cost two-and-a-half million-dollars a month. And that doesn't include the cost of damage caused by the flood waters.

The Downtown Davenport Partnership says when you factor-in the lost wages for workers and lost sales for businesses, the price tag jumps.

Downtown Davenport Partnership Director Kyle Carter says they're hoping to use the report as part of the city's FEMA request, though he's not sure when that request will be submitted.

A Salvation Army Flood Donation Center will open Friday at the former Office Max building near North Park Mall in Davenport. it will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and people can donate items like dehumidifiers, fans, and unopened bleach bottles.

The donation center will then be open through the end of the month Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
