Woman wanted for identity theft after thousands stolen from bank account

Law enforcement in the Quad Cities are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect they say stole a woman's identity and withdrew thousands of dollars from their account.

Davenport Police say on January 30th, they received a report from a victim who had her identity stolen. Investigators say the suspect was able to show a fake identification at two US Bank branches. One location in Davenport, the other in DeWitt.

Police say since the suspect was able to present a fake ID, she was allowed to withdraw nearly $8,000 in cash. The victim’s information was also used to open a bogus credit card account.

Anyone with information about these crimes or anyone involved, is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 309-762-9500 or submit a Web Tip. You do not have to give your name. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $2500 and you can remain anonymous.
