Wendy's will install ordering kiosks in 1,000 stores this year. That number is about 16 percent of its locations. Each store would get three kiosks for about $1`5,000. The three kiosks replace three cash registers and three employees. The payback on the three kiosks would be less than two years. There is no payback time on employees. They just keep getting checks.
Why is Wendy's doing this? Capitalistic greed, of course.
