The U.S. Geological Survey announced yesterday that it found a new oil and gas formation under Texas and New Mexico. It contains an estimated 46.3 billion barrels of oil, 281 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 20 billion barrels of natural gas liquids. This is in addition to what has already made the United States the number one oil producer.
Peak oil was supposed to occur in the 1970-1975 period. It was supposed to be all gone by now.
