ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - The City of Rock Island is holding up the destruction of the old County Courthouse.

The City isn't going to give Rock Island County permission to tear down the building until all of the paperwork is in place.

Rock Island Mayor Mike Thoms says that until the Illinois Department of Natural Resources signs-off on the demolition, he's not going to issue the demolition permit.

Rock Island County's Chief Judge last week issued an order to allow Rock Island County to tear down the old courthouse, immediately.
