JOLIET, Illinois - The Illinois State Police say a trooper is lucky that he only suffered minor injuries after another roadside wreck Sunday.
The trooper had one driver pulled over on I-80 near Joliet, when another driver, who the State Police say was drunk, smashed into his squad car.
The drunk driver also hit the stopped car, and it burst into flames.
The trooper was briefly hospitalized, and the driver was arrested.
This is the 12th roadside crash involving a state trooper in Illinois so far this year.
