The electoral college was created by the founders of this country so that large states would not rule the nation. The voters and opinions of small states were given extra weight.
Some silly people wish to abolish the electoral college. That would be a bad idea.
Small states, like Iowa and Nebraska and Idaho and Rhode Island and Delaware, would be ignored by presidential candidates.
Just like in colonial times, if a candidate won the large states he or she would win. Just ask Hillary Clinton.
The electoral college has worked for more than 200 years. Leave it alone.
