LME Inc. announced Friday they are ceasing operations. They have a terminal in Rock Island and employ more than 600 drivers that operate 1,200 semi's hauling freight.
LME posted on their website that they will no longer be making pickups or delivers of freight due to unforeseen circumstances and have ceased operations.
Employees apparently learned of the decision to close on Thursday and as of Friday some workers say they did not receive a paycheck.
LME provided freight hauling across the Midwest, including Iowa and Illinois.
