KEWANEE, Illinois - The Kewanee Fire Department responds to a fire at Windmont Park and officials think it might have been intentional.
Fire Captain Landon Horrie was nearby when the call came in Wednesday evening on report of smoke seen coming from a building in the park.
"I was actually at the park at the time. The fire was basically contained to the restroom itself. A lot of smoke damage throughout the building. The doors to the building itself were locked, appears to have been a set fire," said Horrie.
Officials believe the fire started in a trash can.
Horrie says nobody was in the building when firefighters arrived and nobody was hurt.
Crews worked for about two hours to put the fire out.
The investigation continues.
