Sterling, Illinois - The "Help Wanted" sign is out at Walmart's Sterling Distribution Center.
Walmart is hoping to hire 100 people. The starting pay will be $17.85 an hour. Walmart is looking for order filler positions to support the Sterling grocery distribution center. That employee receives customer orders and then works to prepare and package them for pick-up by the shipper or customer.
Walmart is holding a hiring event on Thursday, September 19th from 2 until 7 p.m. at 23769 Mathew Road in Sterling. Those attending will learn job details such as benefits and will be able to meet one-on-one with the management team. They will also accept applications. All of the positions are considered full time.
The Sterling Distribution Center serves 146 Walmart stores and 30 Sam's Clubs throughout the region.
