DAVENPORT, Iowa - The preliminary results are in regarding the Davenport primary election on Tuesday.
Absentee ballots will be counted on Thursday. When that task is complete the final results will be made official.
The two candidates that will appear on the November ballot for mayor include Mike Matson and Rita Rawson. However, only eight votes separate Rawson from challenger Dan Portes. With that small number a candidate can request a recount. The deadline to do so is 5 p.m. Friday.
KWQC TV6 reports there were three council seats on the primary ballot on Tuesday.
In the 3rd Ward, Alderman Marion Meginnis will face Phil Armer on November 5th.
In the 4th Ward, Councilman Ray Ambrose and Jeffery Bass will appear on the ballot.
In the 5th Ward, the two names on the November ballot will be Matthew Dohrmann and Kristi Miller.
