STERLING, Illinois - The Illinois Department of Public Health has cited the Regency Care nursing home in Sterling for not notifying a physician about a resident who fell and later died.
KWQC TV6 reports the man had a history of taking blood thinners and brain bleeds. He fell on May 11, 2019. An incident report states the man was found “laying on the right side of the body with no visible injury noted, including assessment of the head" at 7 a.m. Documents show the man was checked and everything was within normal limits. At 11 a.m. his wife noticed changes and notified the nurses who then called 911.
The man died on May 16th.
