Dixon, Illinois Man Charged With Solicitation Of Murder

DIXON, Illinois - A Dixon, Illinois man is accused of trying to hire someone for murder. 49 year old Matthew Milby Sr. was officially charged on February 11th on two counts of solicitation for murder for hire.

KWQC TV6 reports that the Dixon Police Department started the investigation in July of 2919. Two people apparently came forward saying they spoke with Milby Sr. who asked for assistance in carrying out two murders. Both people were identified and people Milby Sr. knew.

The Lee County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and determined there was enough evidence to move forward with the case. The Chicago Times reports that Milby Sr. is the father of Matthew Milby Jr who was recently found unfit to stand trial for attempted murder. Milby Jr. is accused of firing shots at Dixon High School on May 16, 2018.

Milby Sr. had bond set at $500,000. He was already in the Lee County Jail on unrelated charges.
