Three people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Davenport early Thursday morning.
Davenport police, fire, and EMS were called to the intersection of Kimberly Road and Wisconsin Avenue for a serious crash just after midnight.
Police say a car driving northbound on Wisconsin Avenue failed to stop at the stop sign and broadsided an SUV that was driving east on Kimberly Road. Both vehicles slid into the ditch and caught fire. Investigators say one person was ejected from the SUV during the crash.
Both people in the SUV and the driver of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in either vehicle.
No names have been released yet, pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation by the department’s police traffic safety unit.
