(Davenport, IA) -- This week's freezing temperatures are good for one thing, freezing everything in sight. That's good news for those who've been wanting to ice skate outdoors this winter.
The lagoon at VanderVeer Park in Davenport has now frozen deeply enough to support ice skating.
In a Facebook Post, Davenport Parks and Recreation said staff have cleared snow off the ice for residents to skate on, but warn that being outdoors in these frigid temperatures could be dangerous. They did provide an alternative, as The Rivers Edge is open for people to safely ice skate indoors.
