(Springfield, IL) -- Many Illinois Quad Cities residents can file their tax return online for free this year.
Eligible taxpayers can use the IRS Direct File program to electronically complete their federal return, and the MyTax Illinois site to file their state return, both at no cost.
Taxpayers can start filing both federal and state returns on January 27th.
