(East Moline, IL) -- It was on this date 25 years ago that Case IH announced they'd be closing their Harvester plant in East Moline.
The subsequent closure in August of 2004 put around 600 people out of work.
The closure also forced the city to cut staff and raise water and sewer rates to make up the nearly million dollars of annual tax revenue.
The Bend development now sits on half of the land where the factory once stood.
