(Springfield, IL) -- Illinois Quad Cities drivers may soon see their car insurance rates drop.
Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias says he wants to end zip codes, age and credit scores from being used to determine vehicle insurance rates.
But insurance industry reps say similar changes in Washington state actually caused rates to rise rather than fall.
