(Bettendorf, IA) -- A funding plan is being approved for the widening of a major Quad Cities road.
Bettendorf City Council is voting to create a Tax Increment Financing tool, or TIF, to fund a $28-million widening of Middle Road between Forest Grove Drive and Crow Creek Road.
The project will add sidewalks, a bike lane, and a roundabout at Hopewell Drive too.
The roundabout at 53rd and Middle Road will also be widened.
The work is scheduled to start in 2028.
