(Rock Island, IL) -- Funds for addressing the structurally deficient Centennial Bridge are part of the $50.6-billion, six-year Illinois DOT infrastructure plan announced this week.

$309-million is budgeted to refurbish or replace the 85 year-old Centennial Bridge over the Mississippi River between Davenport and Rock Island.

$441.5-million is also being allocated for a new Interstate 80 bridge over the Mississippi at LeClaire.

Illinois will split the cost of both bridges with Iowa.

Another $106-million is earmarked for widening Interstate 74 to three lanes from 27th Street in Moline to the airport, and for a diverging-diamond interchange at John Deere Road.
