(Rock Island, IL) -- Rock Island County residents will pay lower property taxes next year.

The county board says their 2026 budget will collect $2-million less in taxes while still providing adequate service.

It's the fourth consecutive year the county has reduced the property tax levy to offset a 6% increase in assessed value.
