(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A federal class-action lawsuit has been filed against SSP America, accusing the company of violating wage and hour laws.

A former SSP employee at the Eastern Iowa Airport claims workers are required to perform both tipped and non-tipped duties but are paid under tip-credit rules. That practice, the lawsuit alleges, reduces overall pay below the minimum wage.

SSP America operates restaurants at airports in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, as well as more than 50 other locations across the U.S.
