(Henry County, IL) -- The man convicted of killing a Knox County Sheriff's deputy during a police chase three-and-a-half years ago will remain in prison.

A Henry County judge denied two motions Friday requesting a new trial and a reconsideration of the life sentence of Daylon Richardson.

He was found guilty in February of last year of two counts of murder for running down 34 year-old deputy Nicholas Weist.

The judge said the motions were filed beyond the 30-day deadline after Rcihardson's late August sentencing.
