Animal Rescue League of Iowa Reports Record-Breaking Year in 2025

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is reporting a record-breaking year for adoptions and rescues.

More than 9,000 pets found new homes in 2025 through the ARL. The organization’s Animal Welfare and Response team also assisted law enforcement in removing over 900 animals from neglectful situations. In addition, the ARL distributed more than 135,000 pounds of pet food and is currently building Iowa’s first Rescue Intake and Rehabilitation Center.

The Animal Rescue League of Iowa will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026.
