(Scott County, IA) -- Scott County residents opposed to a planned gas-fired power plant shared their feelings with the Board of Supervisors at a meeting last night.

The Central Iowa Power Cooperative has plans for a generating plant that would only come online to meet peak demand.

Opponents say it would take up valuable farm land while also polluting nearby farms.

A rezoning request for the plant was put on hold by the Scott County Board of Supervisors in October while they seek more information about the planned plant.
