(Iowa) -- A bill introduced in the Iowa Legislature would raise the state's minimum wage.

House File 2378 would raise the minimum wage over time, starting with raising the current minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to $10 dollars an hour in July of this year. The bill would raise the minimum wage to $12.50 an hour in July of 2027 and again to $15 dollars an hour in July of 2028. After reaching $15 dollars an hour, the state's minimum wage could never be lowered and would be adjusted annually based on cost of living used for federal social security benefits.

The full text of the bill is available on the Iowa Legislature's website.
