(Colona, IL) -- An investigation is underway after a man was found dead Monday.
Police say officers responded to a report of a loose dog in a trailer court in Colona yesterday morning around 11:00am.
Officers located the dog and when attempting to find the owner located a dead body in the Green River nearby.
Neighbors directed searchers to an area the owner of the dog frequented, but there was no indication if the body found was that of the dog's owner.
The person's identity and cause of death haven't been released.
