(Iowa) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signs a new school funding bill into law.

The new law includes a two percent increase in state per-pupil funding for fiscal year 2027. Governor Reynolds says the measure guarantees more than four-billion dollars for Iowa public schools and nine-point-one billion dollars in total education funding for the 2026-2027 school year. Democrats had opposed the measure, saying the funding increase is not enough to keep up with inflation.
