(Clarke County, IA) -- A man who fled the scene of a deadly crash involving a horse-drawn buggy in Clarke County has been sentenced to up to 12 years in prison.

Prosecutors say 41-year-old Jacob Wright took off after the November 12th crash that killed 16-year-old Elmer Borntrager. Investigators found Wright’s vehicle the next day, leading to his arrest.

Wright’s guilty plea came as part of a plea deal that dismissed the involuntary manslaughter charge.
