(Rock Island, IL) -- The Centennial Bridge's days may be numbered.

In an op-ed published in local newspapers on the weekend, former Rock Island Mayor Mark Schweibert says the Illinois and Iowa DOTs plan to tear down the 85 year-old structure spanning the Mississippi between Davenport and Rock Island.

Schweibert says the DOTs proposed replacing the Centennial with a new structure down river at a meeting of the Citizens Advisory Board last week.

A meeting to review options and get public feedback on the Centennial's future is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. tomorrow at the Rock Island Holiday Inn.
