(Iowa) -- John Deere plans to close its Ottumwa Works facility and move production to Des Moines Works.

The company says production will be relocated by the end of fiscal year 2028, citing changes in customer demand and manufacturing capabilities.

The announcement comes after Deere recently said it planned to hire workers at the Ottumwa facility.

John Deere also plans to end manufacturing operations at its Hagie facility in Clarion by the end of fiscal year 2029.

The move comes just months after John Deere reported a profit of about $1.3 billion, up roughly $100 million from the same period a year earlier.
