Moline-Coal Valley District Names New School After QC Businessman

(Moline, IL) -- The Moline-Coal Valley School District is naming a new school after an influential businessman and community leader in the Quad Cities.

The new building that will house the combined Lincoln-Irving and Willard schools starting in 2027 will be called Robert Ontiveros [[ awn-TEE-vair-ohs ]] Elementary.

Ontiveros grew up in Moline's Floreciente neighborhood.

He founded the Group O packaging company in 1974, Mercado on Fifth, and the QC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
