Western Illinois University president leaving his position

DES MOINES, Iowa - The president of Western Illinois University is leaving his post, but he could come back to the institution.

President Jack Thomas says his last day will be June 30th. He says the campus needs new leadership.

But he's requesting administrative leave for two years at his current salary with the option to return to a faculty position after that time frame.

TV 6 reports the Board of Trustees has approved the request.
