Davenport Teen Facing Burglary Charges

A 17 year old is facing charges for an armed burglary. Police were called to 40th and Division Street for a burglary around 2 a.m.

KWQC TV6 reports a Ring camera from the home shows males trying to get into vehicles and it appeared they were armed with handguns. Officers were given a description of the suspect's vehicle and officers soon spotted it near El Rancho Drive and 46th Street. When police tried to stop the vehicle the driver took off and the pursuit was underway.

Near 39th and Bridge Avenue, the suspect's vehicle was disabled and two people from inside took off on foot. Both were soon located. The 17 year old suspect will be charged with 1st degree theft, 2nd degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance and interference with official acts. That teen was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

The vehicle the suspects were in had been reported stolen from a home on West 71st Street. Inside were several guns and rounds of ammunition.
