Davenport High School Student Charged With Assault On A Police Officer

DAVENPORT, Iowa - A 17 year old North High School student in Davenport is charged with assault on a police officer.

Davenport Police were called to the school on Wednesday, October 16th after getting a report of a female student trying to fight with another. School officials told the girl to leave the building but she refused.

An Officer then tried to escort her out of the building KWQC TV6 reports that is when the tirl struck the officer in the face with a bag and a book. Additional police were called as the girl apparently was kicking at the officer. She was eventually arrested and later released to her parents.

The officer involved in the scuffle had minor injuries but no one else was hurt.
