Four Illinois Counties at higher COVID status

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Coronavirus cases are stable or dropping for most counties in Illinois, except four labeled higher risk.

The Illinois Department of Public Health COVID 19 map shows St. Clair, Monroe, and Union Counties with higher metrics than most other counties in the state.

Metrics include percentage of positive cases, number of tests, and hospitalizations, for example.

Clark County, in Eastern Illinois, has the highest positivity rate In the state, at 14.4%.

Counties meeting set targets are blue on the map, and all counties in the Quad Cities area are in this category.

Counties that are not meeting the target, and that are at higher risk for COVID 19 spread are orange.
