Police in Davenport say it appears an event calling itself the Quad Cities Taco Festival is a fake. A Facebook page titled the Quad Cities Taco Festival says it's scheduled for September 27th and 28th in downtown Davenport.
But police say they contacted the organizer listed on the page and were given vague information on the event. Davenport city officials also say no permit has been requested for the event, which would be required.
Police say fake festivals and concerts have become a popular tool for scammers.
