Thousands Still Without Power In Quad Cities After Monday's Storm

Tens of thousands of people are still without power in the Quad Cities. According to MidAmerican Energy, over 100-thousand people lost power across the Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities during storms Monday afternoon.

Some of the heaviest damage is in Davenport where strong winds damaged the dome at Saint Ambrose University. KWQC-TV6 reports wind ripped the bubble before tearing it off on Monday.

The National Weather Service says the line of severe storms that moved through the QCA Monday produced widespread winds of over 70 mph and, in some areas, over 100 mph.

In Rock Island the fire department says eight retired Metrolink buses caught fire at 25th Avenue and 7th Street when a power line snapped. The fire caused a nearby elementary school to be evacuated. No one was hurt.
