Moline woman killed after being trapped under a car is identified

(Moline, IL) -- A Moline woman killed in a Thursday morning accident is identified.

KWQC-TV reports that the Rock Island County Coroner says 78 year old Debbie Schroder has been identified as the victim. Police say just after 9:30 Thursday morning, officers were called to the are of 36th Ave and 70th Street Court for a person who was trapped underneath a vehicle. Investigators say once officer got to the scene they say they found Schroder, who had been hit by a northbound driver.

The fire department worked to rescue Schroder, who was trapped underneath the vehicle, but say she later died from her injuries. The people in the vehicle were not injured.

The coroner said she died from multiple traumatic injuries. “The initial investigation assessment indicates this was a tragic accident,” police said in a release. “Police will be conducting interviews and gathering evidence to determine the full circumstances of the incident.”
