UI Health Care Receiving $2 Million Grant To Help With Mental Health

(Iowa City, IA) -- The University of Iowa Health Care is receiving an over $2 million grant to help with the mental health of children and teenagers.

The three-year, $2.25 million grant was awarded by the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration.

The money will give children and teenagers more access to mental health care.

It will also help expand the University of Iowa Health Care.

According to the University, the award is a renewal of a previous five-year HRSA grant for the Iowa Pediatric Mental Health Care Access Program.

Data shows 1 in 10 high school students in the state has attempted suicide.
