(Springfield, IL) -- Illinois Quad Citians could soon save money on their car insurance.

Illinois' Secretary of State says he wants to end discrimination when it comes to car insurance rates.

A new bill would limit insurance companies to using only someone’s driving record when setting their rate.

Right now insurance companies can consider race, age, gender, zipcode, and credit scores to charge people higher insurance premiums.
