Burlington man dies, three injured after Lee County, Iowa crash

LEE COUNTY, Iowa- A Burlington man has died after a Lee County crash. The Iowa State Patrol says an S-U-V driven by 62-year old Larry Reynolds collided with a Jeep Cherokee driven by 22-year-old Holly Mathews of Salem, Iowa, on Highway 2 yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, near Donnellson, Iowa.

The Patrol says Mathews' vehicle was eastbound on the highway and stopped to pull into a private drive. Reynolds was also eastbound, and hit the brakes and swerved, but hit the back of the Jeep, then rolled into the ditch.

Reynolds died at the hospital, 69-year-old Ronnie Underwood, also Burlington was injured, and flown to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Mathews and her passenger, Suzanne Kennedy of Texas were injured and taken to a local hospital.
