Illinois Cannabis Sales Are Brisk Since Legalization

It took just 12 days for nearly 20-million dollars' worth of cannabis to be sold in Illinois.

Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the Prairie State's cannabis legalization law on New Year's Day, making Illinois the 11th state to legalize adult recreational marijuana use.

On the first day alone, over three-million-dollars' worth of product was sold at dispensaries.

Twenty-five percent of revenue from the cannabis sales tax will go to the "Restore, Reinvest, and Renew" program, which focuses on violence prevention, re-entry and health services to areas across the state of Illinois.
