Over 180 lbs of unwanted medications collected in Moline Drug Take Back Day

Nearly 200 pounds of unwanted and unused drugs in Moline are being safely disposed of following "Drug Take Back Day" last weekend.

The Moline Police Department says it collected 182 pounds of medication during its annual “Drug Take Back Day” event on Saturday. The event took place with COVID-19 precautions in place as visitors didn't have to exit their vehicles when they dropped off their old medications.

Many police departments around the Quad Cities area held a similar event over the weekend to help residents safely dispose of their unwanted and expired medications.
